About SAIL

SAIL (Surface Atmospheric Intelligence Layer) delivers hyperlocal wind predictions for the Southern California coast through multi-modal sensor fusion and physics-informed machine learning.

Our Mission

Traditional weather forecasts provide regional predictions at 3-25 kilometer resolution. But coastal wind patterns vary dramatically over distances of just a few hundred meters due to thermal effects, terrain interactions, and marine layer dynamics.

SAIL bridges this gap by fusing multiple data streams—numerical weather predictions, real-time observations, and novel derived sources—to create sub-kilometer wind intelligence. Our physics-informed approach ensures predictions respect atmospheric constraints like thermal internal boundary layers and roughness transitions.

Whether you're planning a sailing race, choosing a surf spot, or scheduling drone operations, SAIL provides the hyperlocal accuracy you need.
